Viola Lora (Min-Kyung Chung) is a violist known for her ability to draw out the viola’s deep, warm alto voice, creating a powerful yet richly nuanced sound that defines
her distinctive musical identity.She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with honors from Ewha Womans University and received
top prizes in numerous competitions. Through her work as principal violist with a wide range of orchestras in Korea and abroad, she established a solid foundation as a classical violist of exceptional musical depth and discipline.Driven by a long-standing commitment to making classical music more accessible and engaging for wider audiences, she has continuously expanded her artistic language beyond traditional boundaries.
Rooted in classical music, her work moves fluidly across pop, jazz, and world music, shaping
a crossover style that reflects her curiosity, versatility, and creative vision.As both a leader of diverse ensembles and a solo artist, she has been actively involved in projects spanning classical, crossover, and world music genres. Performing under the name Viola Lora, she composes and performs original works that highlight the unique character of the viola, steadily extending her presence
from Korea to international stages.Her discography includes the full-length solo album Extra-Ordinary Life (2020), featuring ten original compositions for viola, as well as digital singles You Are Special (2021), Thunderstorm (2021),
Fine with Me Not Having Anything (2021), and Thirtieth Birthday (2016),

깊고 따뜻한 알토의 음색을 지닌 비올라의 매력을 섬세하게 끌어내며,
강렬하면서도 풍부한 사운드로 자신만의 음악 세계를 구축해 온 연주자이다.이화여자대학교에서 학사 및 석사 학위를 우수한 성적으로 취득하였으며,
다수의 콩쿠르에서 우등 입상하고 국내외 주요 오케스트라에서 수석을 역임하며
정통 클래식 비올리스트로서 탄탄한 기반을 다져왔다.한편, 클래식을 보다 쉽고 자연스럽게 대중과 연결하는 방법에 대해 오랫동안 고민해 온 그녀는
클래식을 중심으로 팝과 재즈, 월드뮤직을 넘나드는 크로스오버 음악으로 활동 영역을 확장하며
연주자이자 창작자로서 독자적인 음악 언어를 만들어왔다.그동안 클래식, 크로스오버, 월드뮤직 분야에서 다양한 팀을 이끄는 리더로 활동해 왔으며,
솔리스트로서는 ‘비올라로라’라는 이름으로 비올라의 고유한 색채를 살린 작품을 직접 작곡·연주하며
국내를 넘어 세계 무대로 활동 영역을 넓혀가고 있다.솔로 앨범으로는 비올라 창작곡 10곡을 수록한 정규 앨범
Extra-Ordinary Life (2020)를 발표했으며,
디지털 싱글 You Are Special (2021), Thunderstorm (2021),
Fine with Me Not Having Anything (2021), 서른번째 생일 (2016) 등을 통해
비올라를 중심으로 한 감각적이고 서정적인 음악 세계를 지속적으로 선보이고 있다.
